I did find the controls a little too sensitive. Oh me too Darren, I thought this was a really nice little touch and a nice way for the developers to almost say thank you to the fans for sticking with this franchise and character for so long. Each time you progress a little further and you really do feel that satisfaction when you finally reach the end. Yes, but that's what I love about Sonic you have to die a few times so you can learn where you need to jump, or what the best path is to take. As classic Sonic you play in the familiar 2D side scrolling platform breaking item boxes, jumping ledges and speeding your way around newly designed worlds from Sonics past.Īs new Sonic, you play through the world in a 3D, homing attack format which is much faster and has a lot more to dodge and swerve through.Įach level is quite short but you may find this is actually a good thing, because if you haven't played a lot of Sonic, you will probably die often! Very quickly you find yourself in limbo which is your gateway to 9 different story missions which have two play throughs as classic Sonic and as modern Sonic.
But it's actually a good, back to basics story that treats Sonic with a solid amount of respect. It's not a story you're going to need to follow really closely but then again I don't think the developers were intending to create an intricate narrative with twists and turns at every corner.
